The other major factor for male pattern baldness includes genetics and hormones. Some of the males have hair follicles that are sensitive to male hormone dihydrotestosterone also known as DHT.
According to Norwood scale there are 7 stages of male pattern baldness.
According to the researches the male pattern baldness begins with the hair thinning or receding hairline from top of the scalp i.e the crown of the head. The first stage mostly goes unnoticed as the changes are not visible
In stage 2 the hair line moves further inward to the temples creating a baldness in M shape hairline.
Here the baldness is more visible. There is very little hair or completely no hair on the temple region. It becomes more difficult or impossible to hide the hair loss.
The hair from the crown region starts to fall in stage 4. Large bald spots are seen on the crown area. At this stage it becomes evident that one is facing male pattern baldness.
At this stage it becomes difficult to treat the baldness. The horse shoe shape is seen in the hairline at this stage.
You lose a large portion of hair from the head. Only a few strands are left of the crown region or almost no hair.
This stage can be considered as complete baldness. At this stage whatever treatments one does has very slim chances to recover the hair.
