Initially, I was not much more of a tea person; it used to be a sometimes episode when I felt like having tea and I did so. But this completely changed during my visit to a tea factory in Ooty where I tasted a freshly brewed tea. Since then I have started loving to have tea. I am sure many of you reading the article are tea lovers. Did you know that Tea is the second most-consumed drink after water around the world?  This common drink is available in many types and also benefits the health in many ways, one of such benefits is Weight loss. Thinking about how is tea good for weight loss? Teas have catechins and caffeine present which helps in boosting the metabolism and helps the body to burn more calories.

There are different varieties of teas available globally. We shall be particularly talking about a few that help you to cut down the extra weight and burn the extra fats.

1.       Green Tea

2.       Black tea

Black tea is the most oxidized tea amongst all due to this it gets its black color. It is also known as red tea. It is considered to be a prebiotic as it helps to increase the gut microbes which further helps to improve digestion and burn fats. Due to high caffeine content, it also helps to boost the metabolic rate. 6.       Kahwa- A Kashmiri Tea

Kahwa is made with a mixture of spices. Used for ages due to its health benefits. Kahwa helps to increase the metabolism and increases the fat breakdown which further helps in weight loss. It also helps to detoxify the body. Start the day with a cup of this Kahwa to stay fresh and energetic the whole day.

In a vessel, add water, Kashmiri green tea, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and bring it to boil, and let it simmer for 2-4 mins. Strain it in another vessel and add saffron strands and give a quick boil and serve.

7.       Lemon tea

It detoxifies the body and helps to get the body rid of all the toxins. Other than this, it also helps to increase metabolism which helps to lose weight. It provides good hydration to the body and helps to give the feeling of fullness.

Boil water in a vessel, turn off the gas, add in lemon zest, mint leaves and let it steep for a min. In a cup, add lemon juice, honey, and strain in the steeped water, mix well and serve hot.

8.       Turmeric Tea

Turmeric is used extensively for its health effect. It has curcumin which makes it a wonder spice. It has an anti-inflammatory effect on the body. It also helps in healing wounds,  managing the insulin levels, preventing metabolic syndrome, and helps in boosting metabolism. It also helps to improve the digestion rate. Drink a cup of this tea in the morning or the evening.

How to make turmeric tea for weight loss

In a vessel, add water, grate ginger and bring it to boil, after it boils, turn off the gas. Add turmeric powder and let it steep for 1-2 mins. After 1-2 mins, strain and serve.

Now that you know that that tea does help in weight loss start including these teas in your routine. You can also add sabja seeds to your diet for improved weight loss results. Adding jowar for weight loss to your diet is also a simple switch that will reap positive results.

There is no specific tea that is the best when it comes to weight loss. You can use any of these regularly in your daily routines and continue it for a month at least. If required you can try the other tea after a month.
