What is the difference between Beardmax 5% Minoxidil Beard Growth Serum and beard oil?
Beardmax is a lightweight, water-based serum containing 5% minoxidil and is intended for low-density or patchy beard areas. Beard oil conditions and softens facial hair and skin but does not contain minoxidil. The products serve different purposes and are not substitutes for each other.
Does Beardmax initially cause beard shedding?
Some users may notice temporary shedding after starting Beardmax as weaker hairs move through the hair-growth cycle. Continue using Beardmax as directed. Stop use and consult a dermatologist when shedding is severe or does not settle.
Can I apply Beardmax after dermarolling?
Do not apply Beardmax immediately after dermarolling. After using a 0.5 mm derma roller, wait 24 hours before applying Beardmax to reduce irritation from applying minoxidil to freshly microneedled skin.
Does Beardmax have any side effects?

Yes. Beardmax is an alcohol-free, water-based and oil-free serum. It is lightweight and non-sticky once applied.
Should I wash my face after applying Beardmax?
Do not wash the treated area for at least 4 hours after applying Beardmax. After 4 hours, continue your normal cleansing routine. This keeps the serum on the skin for the duration stated in the product directions.
Should Beardmax be applied to wet or damp skin?
Apply Beardmax to clean, dry skin. If you clean the beard area with a damp towel, allow the skin to dry before applying the serum. Damp skin is not required.
How often should I use Beardmax beard serum?
Apply Beardmax twice daily: once after bathing and once in the evening. Keep at least 8 hours between applications. Apply 0.5 ml to the beard area and massage for 2 minutes. Use it consistently for at least 3-4 months.
The colour of my Beardmax solution has changed. Has it spoiled?
Beardmax solution may change colour over time; this does not affect its efficacy or quality. Do not use the serum after its expiry date or when the bottle or seal is damaged.
Does shaving increase beard growth?
No. Shaving cuts hair above the skin and does not increase follicle density or make the beard grow faster. Shave as part of normal grooming, not as a beard-growth treatment.
Can someone with no beard use Beardmax?
Beardmax may be applied to low- or no-density beard areas, but results depend on the presence and responsiveness of existing follicles. It cannot create new follicles, so new beard growth is not guaranteed.
